Entry into Year 7 in September 2027 Entrance Examination 2026
Loreto is a selective Catholic Grammar School and as such an Entrance Examination needs to be taken. The Entrance Examination for Year 7 Entry in September 2027 will take place on Friday, 18th September 2026.
How to register:

Registration is for candidates with a date of birth between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016.
The deadline for registration is 1:00pm on 31st July 2026. Late Applications cannot be accepted.
Paper order and lengths:
1) Mathematics - 45 minutes
2) English - GL: 45 minutes
3) Verbal Reasoning - GL: 50 minutes

Baptism Certificates:
Where applicable, for baptised candidates of any religious denomination, we require sight of your daughter's original Baptism Certificate. This should have been submitted by 10th July 2026.
The School closes for the summer on Tuesday 21st July 2026, at which point you cannot submit this document via post or in person, as there will be no-one on site to accept this. Please note that we do not accept scanned or electronic copies.
The School re-opens Tuesday 1st September 2026, at which point you can submit this document via post or in person by Friday 4th September 2026. This should be sent to: Loreto Grammar School, Dunham Road, Altrincham, WA14 4AH. Please ensure to enclose a stamped addressed envelope for its return.
Due to the high volume of Baptism Certificates received, this process may take up to two weeks. Your patience with this is much appreciated.
SEND or Medical Needs:
If your daughter has been identified as having SEND or medical needs, you will need to provide a letter from the SEND Coordinator of your daughter’s current Primary School, along with any diagnostic reports or information from the medical professionals involved with her care, detailing her needs, support and normal way of working in assessment / examination conditions.
