Late Entrance Examination
REGISTRATION OPENS ON 22ND FEBRUARY 2027
Loreto is a selective Catholic Grammar School and as such an Entrance Examination needs to be taken. The Late Entrance Examination will take place on Wednesday 28th April 2027, and is for candidates DID NOT sit the Entrance Examination on 18th September 2026.
If your daughter was unsuccessful in the Entrance Examination 2026, the earliest date she can sit the Entrance Examination again will be in the summer term when she is in Year 7, i.e. April 2028.
The offer of places for Year 7 in September 2027 will be made on 1st March 2027. As such, I would advise you that if your daughter is successful in our Late Entrance Examination, her name can only be placed on our Waiting List.
How to register:

Registration opens at 10:00am on Monday 22nd February 2027. This is for candidates with a date of birth between 1st September 2015 and 31st August 2016.
The deadline for registration is 1:00pm on Friday 12th March 2027. Late Applications cannot be accepted.
Paper order and lengths:
1) Mathematics - 45 minutes
2) English - GL: 45 minutes
3) Verbal Reasoning - GL: 50 minutes

Baptism Certificates:
Where applicable, for baptised candidates of any religious denomination, your daughter's original Baptism Certificate should be sent to: Loreto Grammar School, Dunham Road, Altrincham, WA14 4AH.
Please ensure to enclose a stamped addressed envelope for its return. This must be submitted no later than 12th March 2027.
Please note that we do not accept scanned or electronic copies.
SEND or Medical Needs:
If your daughter has been identified as having SEND or medical needs, you will need to provide a letter from the SEND Coordinator of your daughter’s current Primary School, along with any diagnostic reports or information from the medical professionals involved with her care, detailing her needs, support and normal way of working in assessment / examination conditions.
This information must be submitted no later than 12th March 2027.
